SmartHalo, Handlebar-Mounted GPS Bike Navigator Indicator
26 of 47
SmartHalo, a first edition handlebar-mounted smart bike device made by a Montreal company that launched on Kickstarter in 2015. It pairs with a phone app over Bluetooth and uses a ring of LEDs around a circular face to communicate without requiring the rider to look at a screen for long.
The ring light shows turn-by-turn navigation as arcs and points of light that indicate direction, along with things like trip progress, fitness goals, and incoming call or message notifications. It also has a headlight, an alarm that sounds if the bike is moved while locked, and a lock-and-unlock function through the app. It mounts with a special tool so it is harder to remove than a typical clip-on accessory.
